@hizarci123 ive been looking into this for a while, and well basically it all depends, will your maths skills be necessary. you will need good maths skills yes, but communication and carisma is the ost important of all. Now, no matter how clever you are, you have to sell yourself, stockbrokers the first? few years are essentially salesmen. so if ur a genius, but have no people skill dont go into brokerin, if u have people skill and decent math u can make ur way. But its better do be good at math.

I like? this mousey girl- client base and ROA is key. By the way- firms will not hire anyone without a book now. To all those who got in- dont be afaid to ask for the order and if anyone is reading this who is producing 200K+ you know what I mean when I say..”the first person who speaks after asking for the order fails”. Its stressful but there are days when you walk away after the close and really feel liked you helped a select number of people that day. /LA,CA

@ancrumq12 Correct. But w/o a degree you might need to find some inventive ways of getting their attention. Ask a local? branch manager if you could intern at his/her office, or simply volunteer to work for them at their seminars, etc. and that manager can then make things happen for you.
But let me warn you, there is little-to-no math in this field. Stock-brokers are glorified salesmen, you’ll spend 99% of your time trying to sell something and being told “NO!”
@lawsonrw damn I believe you I am struggling in math right? now in college, but my passion for becoming a Stock Broker hasn’t died. I really thought that I would need a 4yr dergree in order to even be qualified to take the Series 7 exam. I know I can gain clients and my research skills are excellent. So all I have to do is get hired by a large Finance Firm correct ?
stock/commodity/currency/futures brokers do not need any college/university. A broker/trader will? be employed by a firm based on how well they can perform and if they are liscensed. End of story. I am one. Only 30 useless government highschool credits and alot of passion for the markets. START YOUNG!
